What are the Wolf Garten Professional Bypass Aluminium RR5000 secateurs like to use?
These large bypass secateurs feel sturdy and robust but they're heavy and the largest secateurs in our trial. They have angled, non-stick blades with a cutting diameter of 25mm and cut all wood well. The safety catch can be operated on both sides, making these suitable for both right- and left-hand users but the catch is stiff to slide back and forth and needs two hands. The handles have plastic inserts, which feel smooth and a bit slippery, so they're best used with gloves. They have a wrist strap, which is a good idea but if you forget to use just ends up getting in the way. Replacement parts are available, so these tough secateurs should last a long time.
