What’s the Stiga SHT 100 AE cordless hedge trimmer like?

The hardened steel blade on this cordless hedge trimmer has a cutting length of 55cm and a cutting capacity of 18mm. It has tip protection to protect it from damage and a handy hanging hole on the end. The handle has extra soft grip and it rotates 180°, offering the user the choice of three different cutting positions. The 20V 2.0Ah battery takes 70 minutes to fully charge and has a run time of 40 minutes and the battery charge level is visible, at the touch of a button, while working. It comes with a plastic blade guard

What’s the Stiga SHT 100 AE cordless hedge trimmer like to use?

This hedge trimmer is light and quiet and feels comfortable with a handle that has an ergonomic shape and a soft rubber grip. It has a two hand start for safety, which is reassuring on a cordless trimmer and it is easy to use and cuts well, although it did snag a little on more resinous conifer wood. One of the most useful features however is the rotating handle, which switches through three different cutting angles to make it easier to shape and cut a whole range of different shrubs and hedging. The hanging hole is useful for safe out of the way storage but the blade guard is flimsy and really tricky to fit back on to the blade which is frustrating.

Who’s Stiga SHT 100 AE cordless hedge trimmer most useful for?

With its 40 minute run times and low noise levels, this is great for use in small urban gardens, but its comfortable versatile handle also makes it ideal for gardens with tricky shaped hedges and topiary and anyone who needs that extra flexibility.

Is the Stiga SHT 100 AE cordless hedge trimmer good value for money?

Part of the Stiga 100 range of cordless tools, the battery and charger are compatible with a wide range of Stiga garden tools, which will save you money if you decide to invest in the future. The trimmer has a generous range of features – this was the only trimmer in our test that had a rotating handle for the price and comes with a comparable two year warranty. We therefore think it’s great value for money
