One battery fits all the tools in this extensive range and all tools are available to buy with or without a battery. You can therefore expand your range of tools easily and economically using the same battery and charger and the batteries are also compatible with old and new Bosch tools.
There are 20 home and garden tools including grass trimmers, a leaf blower, lawn mower, hedge cutters and telescopic pruner in the range. A pressure washer, hand drills, sander and saws are also included in the DIY range.
Is there a range of batteries available in the Bosch 18V Power for ALL Cordless System?
Batteries come in 2.5, 4 and 6 Ah and two sizes of chargers are also available including a fast charger. The batteries themselves don’t have charge indicators but the chargers have indicator lights that signal when the battery is charging and fully charged.
We tested the Universal Hedgecut 18-500 and the Universal Grasscut 18-260 and they were simple to set up and use – only the grass trimmer needed putting together and the battery is easy to swap and recharge. Both tools feel really well balanced and light, partly due, we’re sure to the small size of the battery and testers particularly liked the comfortable way the grass trimmer’s battery tucked under the arm and the ergonomic design of the handle and shaft.
The hedge trimmer has an ‘Antiblocking system’ to stop growth getting caught and jamming the blades, which at 50cm are longer than some tested. The trimmer is less powerful than some tools tested and feels a little flimsy.
The grass trimmer feeds the cord automatically, rather than by the 'bump and feed' method. The head rotates easily for trimming under benches etc. but the cutting diameter is quite small. The edging function is also helpful, just a click to change the angle of the head and the addition of wheels ensures a neat line.
