The shaft length and well-balanced design make this spade a pleasure to use. Features have been well thought out with a comfortable handle, rivets that are flush and smooth to the socket and the foot treads are wide and sturdy. The stainless steel blade cuts cleanly and is smooth and easy to clean but it does feel heavy and increasingly weighty after prolonged use.

This is a strong spade with a long socket to prevent snapping and an ash shaft and handle that are one continuous piece of wood – the shaft has been split to form the Y-shaped handle. The stainless steel blade won't rust and this spade feels built to last.
