This is a tough, robust spade with an epoxy coated carbon steel blade and steel core plastic coated shaft. The blade has no treads and the plastic handle is D shaped with no added grip.

This simple spade is hard working and solid and it works well digging over tough stony ground. However, despite its comparatively lightness this spade feels heavy and unbalanced and testers struggled with its clunky feel. The blade has no foot treads and the textured blade clogs with mud easily so needs cleaning after use and the straight plastic handle feels slippery after prolonged use.
