What are the Spear and Jackson Kew Gardens Collection High Performance Gloves like?

The Kew Gardens Collection High Performance Gloves are immediately comfortable to wear. The leather soon moulds to the hand, whilst the attractively patterned polyester backs ensure good breathability to keep hands comfortable in even very hot weather. Most of the glove is made from non-padded leather and reinforced on the wear points of the palms and fingers, giving good grip and usability for a wide range of tasks. However, they're not suited for jobs needing fine dexterity, like seedling handling due to the reinforced fingers. Elasticated wrists ensure a close, comfortable fit to keep out debris, and it just takes a bit of a wriggle to get them on when hands are hot and sticky. There’s also a small loop on the wrists for easy hanging and storage. The only slight drawback is that the good palm and finger protection leads to a false sense of security and gives you the confidence to tackle weeds such as nettles and brambles, which unfortunately the thin backs cant protect you from and did lead to stings and prickles on the backs of the hands. A donation to Kew Gardens is made from the sale of these gloves.
