This hand planter has a steel head with a rust resistant coating and a serrated end. There are three depth markings to 15cm on the side and the orange plastic handle has a pull trigger which opens the head for easy release of the soil core.
What’s Gardena bulb planter like to use?
It feels strong and robust and the wide handle sits well in the hand. For a hand planter it goes into the soil well and the quick release trigger, operated by your fingers rather than the thumb is easy to use and drops the soil back over the bulb. The helpful depth markings remove any guesswork so you can plant with accuracy.
Who’s the Gardena bulb planter most useful for?
This is great for anyone who wants to plant bulbs in amongst other plants in beds and borders or has a few bulbs to naturalise in a lawn.
Is the Gardena bulb planter good value for money?
This is at the higher end of the price range for hand planters in our test but it was the easiest to use, has good features and comes with a generous 25 year warranty. We think it’s great value for money.
