We invited guests on a sunny holiday to visit exquisite gardens, including La Louve, La Jeg and Val Joanis in Provence in June, 2019. Accompanied by hosts Monty Don, BBC Gardeners' World Magazine Editor, Lucy Hall and Associate Editor, David Hurrion. Here are some photographs from the trip...

What a fabulous time we had. David Hurrion was the most wonderful travel guide - so knowledgable on his plants and the area - he was a complete joy! We could not have asked for a more courteous and attentive guide - he made the holiday.

La Louve

La Louve, the unique creation of Hermès designer Nicole de Vésian – a lesson in clipped forms and intimate spaces – all with a deep sense of calm. Monty joined the group here to explore the garden

A fantastic trip. The gardens were outstanding, the effort that went into the organisation of the events was terrific. We could not have done any better than David Hurrion as our tour guide..along with the coach driver Phillipe, who was also amazing. It was a wonderful experience.

La Jeg

La Jeg is a breath-taking sculpture garden by international designer Anthony Paul. Here we met the owners, enjoy a guided tour and aperos as the sun set behind nearby Mont Ventoux

This tour was excellent in every respect: the gardens we visited were varied and amazing, particularly the private garden we were privileged to see. David Hurrion is a brilliant tour guide, so knowledgable regarding horticulture and the botany and geology of the area we visited...It was also good to meet Monty, who gave an interesting talk and insight on the garden we visited with him. All in all, a wonderful trip to Provence.
