Is the Weber Genesis II LX S-240 GBS Gas Grill easy to assemble?

The Weber comes in a huge box and is almost pre-built but the combination of the odd unclear diagram and fiddly finishing touches meant it still took over an hour before it was ready to start grilling. It came with a spanner but a Phillip’s head screwdriver is also needed. It does come with batteries, though, which were annoyingly absent from other models.

What is the Weber Genesis II LX S-240 GBS Gas Grill like to use?

The grill ignited easily but took over 10 minutes to come to temperature, which is a lot longer than other models. The temperature gauge is clear and accurate and the grate is a good size and chars efficiently. It provides very even heat distribution with two easy-to-ignite burners and there is a welcome distant between the grates and gas, providing even yet speedy cooking. It also comes back to temperature relatively quickly and holds its heat well.

All parts feel solid and are easy to take apart for cleaning and the drip tray is sturdy and comes with disposable foil baskets. The extra features like the light are great but only one side table folds, so it takes up a lot of space.

How does the Weber Genesis II LX S-240 GBS Gas Grill cook?

As you would expect, food cooks efficiently with a gentle and controllable heat, which resulted in some of the most consistent results. Its grate is non-stick with wide char marks but a very high heat is difficult to achieve, meaning some more delicate products may stick at first. Otherwise it holds up well to all challenges, including large slow joints and fish.

Is the Weber Genesis II LX S-240 GBS Gas Grill good value for money?

Its eye-wateringly expensive, but it looks amazing and is built with high quality materials. Plus, it comes with loads of extras such as a side grill, side tables, night light, tool hooks and the digital thermometer connection 'iGrill', so it’s fair to say you get what you pay for.

Who is the Weber Genesis II LX S-240 GBS Gas Grill useful for?

This is the grill for all barbecue experts and anyone who likes to make a statement while entertaining.
