Take advantage of any early signs of spring weather by getting outside to sow seed this month. In these archive clips from BBC Gardeners' World, Monty is starting off a variety of plants from seed, including chillies, tomatoes and celery, plus the climber Cobaea scandens.

Chillies and tomatoes
If you haven't yet sown tomatoes, peppers and chillies, it is a good idea to start them off as early as possible this month, especially if you intend to grow them in a greenhouse. Monty offers his tips for sowing these tender crops in this Gardeners' World clip.
Sowing annual climbers
Growing tender annual climbers is an easy way to brighten up fences, walls and pergolas. In this short clip, Monty demonstrates how to sow Cobaea scandens 'Purple', which flowers from late summer right up to the first frost.
Celery from seed
Monty demonstrates how to sow a variety of self-blanching celery called 'Tall Utah' that will be ready to harvest from September onwards.
