Beetles with 'Bugman' Jones
From ladybirds to chafers and weevils, we uncover beetles – the unsung heroes of the garden, as Kate Bradbury discovers from expert ‘Bugman’ Jones
Beetles are something of the unsung heroes of our gardens. Most of us go about our lives without really thinking about them. Many of us are familiar with ladybirds, of course, while larger species such as the rose chafer and stag beetle are easily recognisable. But what about the rove beetles that patrol our compost heaps? The water beetles that inhabit our ponds and the ground beetles that hoover up slugs and snails from our vegetable patches?
Today in the podcast, BBC Gardeners' World Magazine Wildlife Editor Kate Bradbury talks to expert Richard 'Bugman' Jones, about his passion for beetles.
