Tiarellas have heuchera-like leaves, which are often spotted or patterned with mahogany blotches and develop a rich red hue in autumn. In late spring and early summer, short upright spikes of foamy flowers are borne just above the foliage. Plants look best grown as ground cover in shady wild and woodland gardens, or in shady borders planted with hostas and hardy ferns.
Tiarella 'Sugar and Spice' has shiny, mid-green leaves with crimson markings, above which soft-pink, bottle brush flowers appear on tall stems, in late spring. It's ideal for using as ground cover and edging paths in moist, shady parts of the garden.
For best results grow Tiarella 'Sugar and Spice' in moist but well-drained soil, in partial to full shade.
