Tiarella cordifolia

Tiarella cordifolia has heuchera-like leaves, which are often spotted or patterned with mahogany blotches and develop a rich red hue in autumn. In late spring and early summer, short upright spikes of foamy flowers are borne just above the foliage. It looks best grown as ground cover in shady wild and woodland gardens, or in shady borders planted with hostas and hardy ferns.

For best results grow Tiarella cordifolia in moist but well-drained soil, in partial to full shade. Protect plants from winter wet, and divide clumps in spring or autumn.
