Salad potatoes have grown in popularity in recent years, thanks to their delicious flavour and waxy texture. Solanum tuberosum 'Nicola' tubers have a superb, firm, waxy texture and excellent flavour, making them perfect for eating in salads, but they're also suitable for boiling and sauteing. Plants show resistance to common scab, potato leaf roll virus, potato virus Y, and potato cyst nematode.
For best results grow Solanum tuberosum 'Nicola' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Dig over the soil well and incorporate plenty of compost or rotted manure before planting. Water the tubers thoroughly two weeks before lifting.
