Skimmia japonica subsp. reevesiana is a dome-shaped, evergreen shrub bearing narrow, dark green, aromatic leaves. In spring dense panicles of pink-tinged fragrant white flowers appear, followed by bright red berries which last well into winter. It's perfect for growing in a patio pot or as a specimen shrub in a small garden.

Grow Skimmia japonica subsp. reevesiana in fertile, well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Mulch annually with well-rotted manure or compost – especially if growing in a pot – and trim lightly after flowering to maintain its shape.
