Alaskan or Menzie's burnet, Sanguisorba menziesii, is a vigorous clump-forming perennial native to Alaska. Through summer and into autumn it produces ruby-coloured bottlebrush flowers on tall stems that are popular with pollinating insects.
Deadhead regularly to encourage further blooms and divide congested clumps in spring or autumn. For best results, grow Sanguisorba menziesii in a moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
