Rosa 'Comte de Chambord' is a wonderful old rose variety, which offers the best of both worlds: an old fashioned rose but with a modern, repeat-flowering habit. Throughout summer it bears pink, fully double open flat flowers, with a good scent.

The plant itself is very upright in habit, with thorny stems and plenty of foliage. It works well when grown in herbaceous borders as well as pots.

Rosa 'Comte de Chambord' grows well in a variety of soil types, but does better if mulched with well-rotted manure or compost. Prune in February and help prolong flowering in summer by deadheading regularly, and adding a high potash feed every fortnight.
