Also known as ‘Harunite’, Rosa 'Claire Marshall' is a repeat-flowering, bushy floribunda shrub rose with dark green foliage that shows good tolerance to diseases. From spring to autumn it bears large clusters of exquisite lilac-mauve, fully double blooms with a rich perfume, reminiscent of old roses.
It's named after the daughter of Jim Marshall, holder of the Plant Heritage National Collection of Malmaison Carnations.
Rosa 'Claire Marshall' works well when grown in a mixed herbaceous border, especially in conjunction with blue- and yellow-flowered plants. Its compact habit and long flowering season make it an ideal choice for smaller gardens or containers.
Mulch with well-rotted manure or compost once a year. Prune back in February and help prolong flowering in summer by deadheading regularly, and adding a high potash feed every fortnight.
