Rhododendrons make up an incredibly diverse group of plants, originating from many parts of the Northern hemisphere with a large concentration in China and the Himalayas. These plants vary from tiny ground covering plants to species growing as understory plants in forests. Most flower in early spring, although some bear flowers for a brief period in autumn.
Rhododendron ‘Spring Sunshine’ is a lovely rhododendron bearing large flowers that are apricot when in bud, fading to pale yellow as they open, in May. For best results, grow Rhododendron ‘Spring Sunshine’ in dappled to partial shade in moist but well-drained, acidic soil. Plants need minimal pruning and can be propagated by layering.
