Herbaceous peonies are a popular choice for providing colour and drama to ornamental borders in late spring and early summer. They bear large, often double flowers in whites, pinks, reds and yellows. Unlike tree peonies, herbaceous peonies die back to ground level in winter.

Paeonia lactiflora 'Henri Potin' is a late-flowering peony, bearing large pink flowers with a central core of buff-coloured, strap-like petals called 'petaloids', with a wonderful fragrance. It's perfect for growing in a mixed herbaceous border and may be grown in a large container. It makes an excellent cut flower.

For best results, grow Paeonia lactiflora ‘Henri Potin’ in well-drained, neutral soil, in full sun.
