Nepeta longipes is an unusual catmint. It has slightly hairy, grey-green, fragrant leaves, from which light blue flowers appear on strong stems, throughout summer. Its blooms are loved by bees and other pollinators, and its leaves are used as a caterpillar food plant by the mint moth, Pyrausta aurata.

Like many catmints, Nepeta longipes may prove appealing to cats, though if they eat an excessive amount of the foliage it can give them an upset stomach.

Grow Nepeta longipes in well-drained soil in full sun. Divide congested clumps in autumn or spring.
