Narcissus jonquilla, also known as the jonquil or rush daffodil is a beautiful species native to the Iberian Peninsula, though is now naturalised outside this range.
It has bright yellow petals that surround a small, flattened cup in the centre of each strongly fragrant flower and slender, deep-green leaves. As a jonquilla daffodil, the flowers are usually produced in groups of three or more, held on one stem.
Plant Narcissus jonquilla bulbs in a sunny or only partial shaded site, and divide overcrowded clumps in early autumn. They're easy to grow in the ground or in containers.
