Chalky / Alkaline / Clay / Heavy / Moist / Well Drained / Light / Sandy
If you'd like to try something a little unusual, Narcissus 'Golden Ducat' could be the answer, thanks to its double, golden yellow blooms. It can tolerate most soils that are well-drained but moist during the growing season. Plant Narcissus 'Golden Ducat' bulbs at one-and-a-half times their own depth, in sun or partial shade. Daffodils will sometimes fail to flower. Common causes are bulbs being planted too shallowly, damage to the foliage the previous season, and clumps becoming too congested.
