Chinese magnolia, Magnolia sieboldii, is one of the hardiest magnolias, bearing large, fragrant white flowers with deep crimson stamens from May to September, against glossy green leaves. The flowers are followed by clusters of crimson fruit. A good sized shrub, eventually growing into a statement tree, it’s a fantastic choice for a large garden, where it will make a unique statement growing as a central feature.

Grow Magnolia sieboldii in moist but well-drained, neutral to acidic soil, in full sun to partial shade. It needs minimal pruning.
