Linum grandiflorum is a low-growing annual native to North Africa, though it has been introduced elsewhere, including the UK, but is not invasive. Throughout summer and into autumn, it produces bright scarlet flowers, with dark red-black 'eyes'. It's a pretty, alternative hardy annual to sow and is well-suited to containers or dotted in beds and borders.
Linum grandiflorum 'Charmer Salmon' has the same red-black centre as the uncultivated species, but instead has a pretty salmon colouring on the rest of the petal. Deadhead regularly to encourage further flowers.
For best results, grow Linum grandiflorum 'Charmer Salmon' in full sun in a well-drained soil.
