Sweet peas can be trained to grow up canes for high-quality blooms, or allowed to scramble up a trellis or obelisk. They make excellent cut flowers. Plants need a cool moist root run, and regular watering in dry weather.
Lathyrus odoratus 'Gwendoline' grows to a height of 200cm, and bears pretty pink blooms which fade to white towards the base. Flowers of ‘Gwendoline’ have a fantastic fragrance. Plants will quickly cover a trellis or obelisk.
For best results, feed Lathyrus odoratus ‘Gwendoline’ fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser, and deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
