Jasminum are evergreen or deciduous shrubs that often climb via twining stems. Their fragrant flowers are star-shaped.

Jasminum nudiflorum is a popular and reliable shrub, introduced from China in 1844, and widely grown against walls. It can be allowed to scramble freely over a low wall, up a bank or trained on a vertical framework. Unlike many other jasmines, Jasminum nudiflorum doesn't twine, so will need tying-in if grown vertically.

Jasminum nudiflorum 'Aureum' has unusual cream and green variegated foliage, which complement its striking yellow blooms. It makes an excellent cut flower.

Grow Jasminum nudiflorum 'Aureum' in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Regular pruning keeps bushes under control and prevents bare patches from appearing.
