This white Japanese water iris, Iris laevigata 'Snowdrift', is a superb plant, native to Asia, where it grows in marshes and at the edge of lakes and streams. It bears delightful, white, beardless flowers on unbranched stems, which rise from broad, strap-shaped leaves in June and July. It's ideal for growing in the margins of ponds.
For best results grow Iris laevigata 'Snowdrift' in slightly acidic soil enriched with well-rotted organic matter.
