Lacecaps and mopheads are the most commonly grown hydrangeas in our gardens. Mopheads have full, round heads of large petals, and lacecaps have flattish flower heads of large outer petals and tiny flowers in the centre.

Hydrangea 'Spike' has unusual ruffled flowers in a variety of delicate colours, with a greenish tint. Flowers are shades of blue if grown on acidic soil and pink if grown on neutral to alkaline soil.

Hydrangea ‘Spike' is perfect for growing in a mixed herbaceous border, or a large pot on the patio. It makes an excellent cut flower.
