Heucheras are native to the woodlands of North America. They tend to grow in dense clumps and have brightly coloured foliage. They thrive in shade and make great groundcover plants. While plants are mainly grown for their foliage, inconspicuous flowers in summer add to their charm.

Heuchera ‘Obsidian’ has glossy, maroon-black leaves, which become darker with maturity. Creamy white flowers appear in summer, contrasting beautifully with the foliage. Heuchera ‘Obsidian’ is ideally suited to growing in a pot to show off its flowers and foliage, but it also looks good in a mixed herbaceous border.
