Heucheras are native to the woodlands of North America. They tend to grow in dense clumps and have brightly coloured foliage. They thrive in shade and make great groundcover plants. While plants are mainly grown for their foliage, inconspicuous flowers in summer add to their charm.
Heuchera ‘Fire Chief’ has large, wine-red leaves, which develop maroon markings with maturity. Small, white and pink flowers appear on dark stems in spring and throughout summer.
For best results, remove faded leaves of Heuchera ‘Fire Chief’ and deadhead spent flowers.
