Heleniums add plenty of impact to the late summer and early autumn border, with their daisy-like red, and yellow flowers.

Helenium 'Kugelsonne' has large, 7cm-wide flowers with a prominent, raised yellow-brown eye and outward-pointing yellow petals. Grow it in drifts, perhaps merging with the red 'Moerheim Beauty' and crimson 'Bruno'. Heleniums aren't too fussy, and thrive in most soils with good drainage.
