Hacquetia epipactis produces unsual green, yellow-eyed bracts from late winter to early spring, followed by emerald-green leaves. It's a clump-forming perennial that spreads slowly by short rhizomes. Given the right conditions, it's generally trouble-free, although it may need some protection from slugs and snails in spring, and doesn't like its roots being disturbed.

The bracts and flowers of Hacquetia epipactis 'Thor' have a pretty cream-white edging, helping the foliage to stand out in shady spots.

Grow Hacquetia epipactis 'Thor' in humus-rich soil in partial to full shade. Propagate by division in spring.
