Native to the streams and rivers of South Africa and Zimbabwe, Gomphostigma virgatum is a striking marginal plant, bearing evergreen, silver-grey leaves and masses of fragrant white summer flowers. Surprisingly hardy, it should withstand temperate winters.
Grow Gomphostigma virgatum in boggy soil at the edge of a pond, bog garden, or even in a pot, as long as the soil doesn’t dry out. Needs full sun.
