Gladioli are popular garden plants, often known as sword lillies because of their long, pointed leaves. A stunning sight in late spring and early summer, Gladiolus 'Kashimir' produces tall spikes of bright pink flowers. It's perfect for growing in a mixed sunny border and makes an excellent cut flower.
Grow Gladiolus 'Kashimir' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Hailing from the Mediterranean, 'Kashimir' is borderline hardy in Britain. In warmer regions it may survive outdoors all year round, particularly if the corms are given a thick mulch in autumn. However in colder areas of the country it's best to lift the corms each autumn to overwinter in frost-free conditions.
