Echinaceas have grown in popularity in recent years, thanks to the trend for prairie-style planting. They're easy to grow as they tolerate most soils, and their sturdy nature means that staking is unnecessary.
The Mooodz series of echinaceas have been bred by tissue culture, rather than by seed or cuttings. This has resulted in an entirely new form – plants are compact and bushy with a branching habit. They flower sooner than other cultivars and are suitable for growing in pots.
Echinacea Mooodz ‘Awake’ bears rich purple-pink flowers with red centres, on dark, strong stems, from July until September. It’s extremely attractive to bees and other pollinators, and makes excellent cut flower. Grow in at the front of the border or in containers, in full sun.
