Aptly named shooting star, Dodecatheon 'Shorty' produces bizarre flowers with cerise, downwards-facing, reflexed petals. It's great for brightening up a damp border or container display from mid- to late spring. A clump-forming perennial, shooting star thrives in sun or partial shade, in moist soil.

Dodecatheon 'Shorty' is ideal for growing in an alpine house, rock garden or container. Plants are usually hardy but may need protecting in the harshest winters.
