Dendrobium 'Stardust Firebird'

Dendrobiums make excellent houseplants. These orchids require cooler growing conditions and a less humid environment than the popular moth orchid, Phalaenopsis.

Dendrobium 'Stardust Firebird' is a compact orchid, bearing brilliant orange flowers with a flat, crimson-striped lip, from April to May.

The winter dormancy of dendrobiums is longer that that of their 'cousins' Phalaenopsis. For best results, reduce watering in autumn, and move plants to a bright windowsill, conservatory or porch, where they can remain cool and dry until spring. Then, when temperatures start to increase again, increase watering and bring them indoors.
