Decorative dahlias typically have fully double flowers with no visible central disc. The petals are generally flat but may be have a little curve or twist. They're popular with exhibitors and make an excellent cut flower.
Dahlia 'Arabian Night' bears large, fully-double dark burgundy-red flowers from June until the first frosts. It's ideal for growing in a mixed border or container display, and is perfect for cutting.
For best results, grow Dahlia 'Arabian Night' in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Deadhead regularly and feed with a potash-rich fertiliser to prolong flowering. Lift tubers after the first frosts and store them in a cool, dry situation until March. Then pot them up and keep them in a temperate greenhouse before planting out in late May.
