Daisy-like cosmos flowers are easy-to-grow and versatile annuals. They can be used to plug gaps in borders, grown as a feature in their own right or as part of a container display. The flowers attract a variety of bees, butterflies and hoverflies, and also make a good cut flower.
Cosmos 'Sea Shells' has interesting fluted petals, each rolled round a tube, like a sea shell. It makes a great planting partner for dark-flowered dahlias and chrysanthemums, and both its flowers and foliage work well in cut flower arrangements. For best results grow Cosmos 'Sea Shells' in moist but well-drained soil, in full sun. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage repeat-flowering.
