Corokia is a small genus containing around 10 species, all of which are shrubs and small trees native to New Zealand or Australia.
Corokia x virgata 'Sunsplash' is a hybrid variety with green and cream variegated leaves held on attractive wiry stems. In late spring it produces small yellow flowers that are followed by glossy red berries in autumn. It tolerates hard pruning and can be used to form an attractive hedge. It's also a good statement plant for growing in a container.
For best results, grow Corokia x virgata 'Sunsplash' in full sun or dappled shade in moist, well-drained soil.
