Clematis integrifolia is a low-growing clematis, bearing small blue bell-shaped flowers with twisted sepals, from early summer to autumn. The flowers are followed by silvery brown seedheads. It's ideal for growing in a border as an herbaceous perennial, and also works well when grown in containers.
For best results grow Clematis integrifolia in moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Falling into Pruning Group Three, cut stems back to the lowest pair of buds in February or March. Mulch annually with well-rotted manure or compost.
