Clematis 'Blue Belle' is a vigorous, free-flowering variety, bearing masses of violet-purple flowers from mid-summer to early autumn. It's perfect for growing up a trellis or wall, and can also be trained to scramble though trees and shrubs. A viticella clematis, 'Blue Belle' shows good resistance to clematis wilt.

Grow Clematis 'Blue Belle' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. As with all late-flowering clematis, Clematis ‘Blue Belle’ falls into Pruning Group Three: simply cut back the stems to a pair of strong buds 30cm above ground level before growth begins in early spring.
