Clematis armandii is a vigorous, evergreen clematis, bearing a profusion of almond-scented, star-shaped cream-white flowers from March to April. It's perfect for growing against a sunny west or south-facing wall. Evergreen, it retains its glossy mid-green leaves throughout the year.
Grow Clematis armandii in moist but well-drained soil in a sheltered, sunny site, out of the way of cold, drying winds. Like all early-flowering clematis,Clematis armandii falls into Pruning Group One. Pruning isn't necessary, but to maintain its size cut back after flowering if desired.
