Kale is one of the easiest vegetables to grow, bearing nutritious leaves over a long season, with very little effort.
Brassica oleracea ‘Dwarf Green Curled’ is a highly ornamental, dwarf kale bearing curly, dark green leaves. Young leaves can be harvested for salads or left to mature for winter greens. Delicious steamed or fried, they're loaded with antioxidants and vitamins. If left to flower it can be a vital source of nectar and pollen for early bees.
Sow Brassica oleracea ‘Dwarf Green Curled' in modules, and transplant 6-8 weeks later, planting them firmly together in moist but well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade. Weed and water well until well established. Young leaves can be harvested on a cut-and-come-again basis when plants are just 5cm tall.
