Astilbe 'Peach Blossom'

False goatsbeard, astilbe, is a perennial with showy plumes of dramatic flowers atop fern-like foliage. It’s perfect for a shady corner, where its dramatic blooms will add height and colour. There are many varieties of astilbe to choose from, bearing flowers ranging in colour from dark pink to cream-white. Their flowers are adored by pollinators, especially hoverflies.

Astilbe 'Peach Blossom' has delicate rose pink blooms and dark, glossy green foliage. Compact in habit, it’s perfect for small gardens and long-term container displays, as long as the soil can be kept moist. It makes an excellent cut flower.

Grow Astilbe 'Peach Blossom' in moist but well-drained soil in partial to full shade (although bear in mind it will flower less reliably in full shade). Avoid afternoon sun as this can scorch the leaves. Water in dry weather and cut back hard after blooming. Divide congested clumps in spring or autumn.
