Anemanthele lessoniana is a fantastic ornamental grass that provides year-round colour, movement and structure in a variety of garden situations. It forms a large clump of slender, evergreen foliage, which emerges green, but becomes streaked with yellow, orange and red with age, resulting in a fiery, eye-catching display in winter. Airy flowerheads appear in late summer.
Grow Anemanthele lessoniana in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Comb out dead and winter damaged leaves in early spring, divide congested clumps in spring to early summer.
