Primula prolifera is a native of the Himalayas and an elegant candelabra primrose producing tall stems bearing bright yellow flowers, in late spring and early summer.
As one of the tallest candelabra primula species, Primula prolifera makes a bold addition to a bog garden or planted near a pond or stream. Its leaves are evergreen, helping to add a dash of extra colour in the winter months. Will gently self-seed if growing in favourable conditions.
For best results, grow Primula prolifera in full sun or partial shade in consistently moist soil. Primula prolifera holds the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
