Preparing for spring: Monty at Longmeadow
Monty Don reflects on a wet winter at Longmeadow and looks ahead to a productive 2020, in this video exclusive for members of Subscriber Club.
For most of us, winter can't end soon enough. In this exclusive, subscriber-only video Monty reflects on a particularly wet winter at Longmeadow, and looks forward to the year ahead.
Monty talks about how "necessary" winter is for both himself and the garden, providing as it does "a fallow period". He identifies the two different halves of the season: the run up to Christmas ("my least favourite time of the year") and the New Year onwards, when the garden becomes "a new world...filled with hope".
Ahead of the new series of Gardeners' World, Friday 20 March 2020 on BBC Two, enjoy this lovely film of Monty, Nigel and Nell at Longmeadow.
