Subscriber exclusive: video tour of Longmeadow
Enjoy an exclusive video tour of Longmeadow in February 2020, with Monty Don.
The UK's best-loved gardening programme returns to BBC Two on Friday 20 March, 2020. Ahead of this, we're delighted to share a behind-the-scenes tour of Longmeadow in winter with Monty Don. In this video exclusive for members of Subscriber Club, Monty gives a taste of what to expect on Gardeners' World over the coming year.
With Nigel and Nell in tow, Monty explains how the "long and very, very wet winter" has affected his plans for the Herb Garden at Longmeadow and enjoys signs of new growth in the Spring Garden.
Flooding is nothing new at Longmeadow, but Monty sees the latest deluge as an effect of climate change and not just a spell of bad weather.
In the Coppice area, Monty shares the results of his new maintenance scheme and offers a glimpse of his plans to dial up the colour with an underplanting of bulbs, shrubs and perennials.
Monty finishes our tour in the Paradise Garden, newly created in 2019. He considers how the garden will evolve and looks ahead to "long-term, subtle changes" over the next year and beyond.
